Hi, my name is Melissa Buddie, LCSW.

I want to help you nurture yourself and your baby through postpartum therapy that is tailored to balance your parenting style and individual wellness.

As a therapist and “scrunchy” mom of two, I am passionate about working with new mothers during the prenatal and postpartum periods to increase your joy in motherhood and address any roadblocks to your desired attachment with your baby. I understand that this journey can be overwhelming, but you don't have to face it alone. My goal is to work collaboratively with you, offering a safe and non-judgmental space to explore your feelings and develop strategies for healing. Together, we can pave the way to a brighter, more fulfilling postpartum experience. You deserve the support you need, and I'm here to help you every step of the way.

You don’t have to leave the comfort of your home and baby behind - the virtual therapy clinic allows you to meet with me via smartphone or laptop from your favorite spot in your house, and babies are always welcome!

I am based in South Bend /Granger, Indiana and serve clients throughout all of Indiana and Michigan. Contact me to discuss how I can help you tackle the postpartum challenges in front of you.

One in five moms experience a significant shift in their mood postpartum and struggle to find their footing as a parent. And, like those moms before you, you are strong enough to work through these challenging emotions to feel confidence in yourself and your approach to parenting.

I focus on championing attachment parenting and supporting you to make the best decisions for your family. Every mother is as unique as the child that she is nurturing and deserves an individualized, non-judgmental approach to her mental health.

As a trained therapist in perinatal mental health, I help parents experiencing:

  • postpartum depression

  • postpartum anxiety

  • postpartum OCD

  • prenatal mood disorders

  • trauma from childbirth

  • birth injury

  • NICU stays

  • infant loss

  • infertility

  • challenges with shifting roles and identity

  • attachment concerns

I also work with birth professionals, including doulas and labor and delivery nurses, to address the trauma and challenges of your work.

While the postpartum phase typically lasts until 12 months postpartum, I am happy to work with anyone who feels that they would benefit from therapy for issues related to parenthood and family planning.

You are not alone, and you don’t need to do it all by yourself. Contact me to discuss how therapy can help you find the joy you long for in parenthood.
