Meet Melissa Buddie, maternal mental health therapist in Indiana and Michigan
Hi! My name is Melissa Buddie. I am a licensed clinical social worker in Indiana and have been working as a therapist since 2016. In addition to experience working with families and postpartum mothers, I have also worked with new parents in the neonatal intensive care unit at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin.
Following the birth of my first child in 2020, I experienced so many unexpected emotions and challenges as I took on my new role as a mother. Balancing my mental health with my goals for an attachment parenting style was hard and required a lot of skill building and perseverance. After the fog cleared a bit, I shifted my therapy practice to work with postpartum moms experiencing these same challenges. My goal is to bring a compassionate listening ear and a wealth of experience in the therapeutic modalities of EMDR and CBT to every therapeutic relationship.
I am a 2012 graduate of Notre Dame and a 2016 graduate of the University of Wisconsin - Madison School of Social Work. I am an avid runner, dog lover, and sports fan. I am a volunteer and member of Postpartum Support - International.
